Madz Et Al Network

The growth of the Philippine Madrigal Singers (Madz) produced many composers, arrangers, and conductors who would go on spreading the Madz idiom and praxis. These composers and arrangers who have been influenced by the Madz musical form continue to contribute to the development of Philippine choral literature. Many singers, inspired by the music tradition initiated and developed by Philippine Madrigal Singers Founding Choirmaster, National ArtisMadz Et Al Networkt for Music Andrea O. Veneracion, pass on the training, experience, and lessons by also handling their own respective choirs. This, almost inevitably, gave birth to the creation of the Madz Et Al Choral Network, an ever-growing family of choirs directed by alumni, resident members and trainees of the Madz. This would later be expanded to include choirs that have undergone training with the Madz, though not handled by Madz members and trainees.

For about 35 years now, choirs belonging to this network gather yearly to stage the Madz Et Al Choral Festival. To date, now under the direction of Madz Artistic Director and Choirmaster Mark Anthony A. Carpio together with Madz Development Director and Company Manager Perlita S. Reyes, there are about choirs listed as part of the Madz Et Al Choral Network.

Sing Philippines Youth Choir

Launched in 2013, during the Philippine Madrigal Singers’ 50th Anniversary, the Sing Philippines Youth Choir gathers around 50 singers from all over the Philippines to a music camp handled by Madz Artistic Director and Choirmaster Mark Anthony A. Carpio. During the camp, the singers are trained to have a deeper understanding of choral singing, exposed to various genres of music, and given opportunities to perform together with the Philippine Madrigal Singers.

The program is a joint project of the Philippine Madrigal Singers through the Andrea O. Veneracion Sing Philippines Foundation and the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) through its Cultural Exchange Department.
